THE RECOVERY ROTATION
Shaping a flexibility rotation that doubles as a recovery session
A 75-minute clinic for coaches and athletes to learn the exact drills and sequence I use to facilitate the shift from a go-go-go, fight or flight state to one that facilitates tissue healing, digestion and learning. You’ll learn drills that can be used at the beginning, middle or end of a training session.

WHY THIS CLINIC?
You’re probably familiar with the differences between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems: ‘fight or flight’ and ‘rest and digest’.
Maybe you’ve heard of techniques for the vagus nerve, a major driver of the parasympathetic nervous system.
But - especially for busy, high-achieving athletes - do you know exactly how to help them downshift from a high alert state to a more secure and relaxed one?
And did you know that doing so will also create positive changes in range of motion?
If you’re interested in learning reliable techniques for your athletes or yourself, this clinic is for you.
YOU’LL LEARN:
The specific drills and sequence I’ve used with elite gymnasts that helped them close out practice feeling relaxed and more flexible
Techniques to enhance performance and exactly how to use them throughout practice and before competing
The drill they’ll ask for every day (and that you’ll want for yourself)
The how and why: A bit of neuroscience and anatomy to explain how a breathing drill can lead to more hip flexibility
“Unlike our usual flexibility training, which often emphasizes intensity over recovery, pushing us to the extreme, Yuka’s sessions offered a completely different approach. She combined flexibility with neuro performance, creating a space that focused not just on physical progress but on mental restoration as well. Her techniques helped me improve my shoulder mobility significantly, which translated to better ease and range of motion during practice.”
Sophie Parenti, University of Michigan Gymnastics and one of the gymnasts who inspired this clinic

Meet Your Instructor
Yuka Sugiura, Neuroperformance Coach
I teach athletes and coaches how to activate the brain to boost all aspects of performance, to accelerate learning and recovery, and to reduce pain.
One of the great benefits of this approach is that the tools I teach are effective in both performance and therapeutic settings.
I love teaching and coaching, and I’ve been fortunate to work with gymnasts from Compulsory levels to members of US National and World teams, elite competitive dancers, Olympians in multiple sports, and have presented at USA Gymnastics Regional and National Congresses and to organizations around the world.
And I’m excited to share some powerful tools with you!
