Inside Each Event
For each event guide, here’s what’s included:
Event warm-up drills: Priming the brain and body to learn and perform. 1-3 minutes of drills to warm-up balance, coordination, flexibility and to heighten body awareness.
Skill or context-specific drills: 2-5 different drills to boost event-specific needs. For example, for vault, you’ll get drills to help:
Upper back and shoulder flexibility
Wrist mobility
Proprioception and coordination
Blocking
Speed, stability and power
THE BENEFITS
The changes can feel magical when a gymnast does a drill and discovers more flexibility or power in just 20 seconds. There’s an even greater effect when the drills are used daily. When integrated regularly, they help accelerate change because they’re driving transformation from the body’s CEO, the brain. Why I created these guides
I recognize that busy coaches with little time need an organized and easy-to-access framework to take the guesswork out of integrating the drills into practice. My intention with these guides is that they provide an easy-to-follow drill ‘recipe’ per event. (So you don’t have to hunt through your saved Instagram videos for a specific drill).
I want to make it as easy as possible to learn, teach, and use these transformative drills every day.

About Me
I’m Yuka Sugiura, a Neuroperformance Coach, which means that I teach athletes and coaches how to activate the brain to boost all aspects of performance, and to accelerate learning and recovery.
Ultimately, it’s all in service of making things FEEL EASIER and have LESS IMPACT on the body, so athletes can pursue their sport for as long as they desire.
One of the best parts of this approach and what I do is to hear and see the reactions (“Wait, what just happened???”) after a single 20-second drill.. because that’s how quickly things can change.
I love teaching and coaching. I’ve been fortunate to work with gymnasts from Compulsory levels to members of US National and World teams, elite competitive dancers, and have presented to sports medicine staff at D1 NCAA programs and at USA Gymnastics National Congress.
